BeachTech in Ulcinj, Montenegro:
A new BeachTech beach cleaning machine, co-financed by the EU.

The city of Ulcinj, in Montenegro, with subsidies from the EU, purchased a BeachTech beach cleaner Marina — proving that a clean beach increases tourism! As always a beach cleaning professionell from Beach Tech conducted a training program for the customer.

Ulcinj is the southernmost city on the Adriatic coast in Montenegro. It has a charming historic city center with a plenty of hotels, restaurants and a great city beach. Outside of town lies an even larger beach, stretching 13 km to the border of Albania - making it the longest sandy beach on the Eastern Adriatic coast. Before the war in Yugoslavia, Ulcinj was a popular holiday destination for Italians, French, British and Germans, and while tourism was limited during the war, the trend has now shifted towards strong tourism growth, and the City is focused on clean beaches.

Although the city of Ulcinj purchased the BeachTech, it is the municipal public works department that operates the unit. In the same manner as other European Union member states, for example Poland, this BeachTech Marina was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), similar to the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). For the City of Ulcinj, their money came from the fund called "IPA - Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance", which supports potential EU candidate countries.

As part of all BeachTech deliveries, a BeachTech expert arrives with the machine to conduct a thorough operator/mechanical training program for the customer. In Ulcinj, over the course of two full days, our BeachTech team led a training course in all aspects of the BeachTech Marina for the public works departments, their operators, managers and mechanics.

Over the two days of training there was plenty of time to understand all the details of the BeachTech, to be completely informed on mechanical and service intervals, and most importantly, provided plenty of time for all attendees to operate their new BeachTech on their own beach - in realistic surroundings.

After the training program, the BeachTech Marina was officially handed over to the City of Ulcinj in a meeting that included the responsible parties from the EU.

We at BeachTech are honored to be part of the City of Ulcinj's beach cleaning team!
