The most successful year to date in the history of BeachTech.
The year just ending has been the most successful in BeachTech's beach cleaning history, bucking the trend in a time of global crisis.
For BeachTech as for others, 2009 had been a year characterised by the economic crisis and all the associated negative effects. In Germany, many district councils cut their budgets or even cancelled their entire spend. Local authorities limited their cleaning contracts to only one year, with the result that service providers were not in a position to assume the risk of major investments. This reticence was clearly perceptible here as everywhere else in the world.
In the year just ending too, there was still little sign of recovery in most countries. Particularly in some of our most important markets such as Spain, Greece and even Italy the crisis remains the dominant issue, exercising a corresponding influence on national economies.
Nevertheless, the year 2010 developed into the most successful in the 20-year history of the beach-grooming division of Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG.
A major contributory factor in this respect was the sale of 31 specially modified beach cleaining vehicles in the United States of America, where they deployed to deal with the horrendous effects of the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. In Australia a new dealer posted an immediate success by selling 3 vehicles. And in the United Arab Emirates BeachTech remains a very strong performer.
The committed dealers who make up the world-wide team earn full appreciation for this remarkable success in difficult times.
And so we look with confidence toward 2011, in the expectation of a gradual recovery in the global economic situation. And we look toward a year in which we will continue pursuing our route to success.
