Just in time for the 2011 Rugby World Cup:
2 BeachTech Marina beach cleaners sold to New Zealand.

Two new beach cleaners from Germany will reach their destinations in Wellington and Paihia, New Zealand. The Rugby World Cup has influenced the purchase of both beach cleaning machines. A huge amount of investment has been made around the country to ensure that the many additional sports tourists will find ideal surroundings, also beyond the stadiums.

For the Wellington City Council, the decision was easy. New Zealand's capital has operated a BeachTech Marina for about eight years, and the new machine is a replacement. They bought a self-propelled BeachTech Marina from the Kässbohrer company for its ability to clean in tight areas.

In Paihia, the beaches have never before been cleaned mechanically. After last year's struggle with weed and debris, and after looking at other brands of beach cleaning machines, Paihia decided for a BeachTech Marina because they wanted an all-in-one machine so they would not need an additional tractor. A community organisation run by volunteers, Focus Paihia has made beach cleaning their business. Co-funded by "Pub Charities".
This is the first beach cleaning machine in New Zealand which is purchased with the support of Pub Charities - a typical feature of New Zealand: 30% of the profits from gaming machines must be given to charities or community organisations. Paihia applied for the support to purchase the BeachTech machine and was chosen. More information: www.pubcharity.org.nz

Rugby World Cup 2011
Let the games begin: from 9 September to 23 October, eleven cities are hosts to the Rugby World Cup which is clearly the biggest sporting event to be held in New Zealand. More than 1 million tickets have been sold so far and the organisers expect that up to 70,000 people will visit from abroad. Huge amounts of investments have been made for a perfect presentation but also to ensure that the country receives the best possible return from the event.
