You can have that pure clean beach, right on the outskirts of Berlin!Lake shore Wannsee decides on BeachTech, insuring professional beach cleaning for their beach!
The traditional lake shore region of Wannsee, with their purchase of a new BeachTech Marina, has invested in modern beach cleaning technology. Wannsee now provides their guests with the same clean groomed sand you would expect to find at heavily visited beaches of Spain, France or the USA.
With a rich and colourful 100+ year history, the lake Wannsee is one of the oldest and best known beaches in Germany. Even in the early 19th century, the Eastern shore of the Wannsee was a huge attraction for hundreds of thousands of Berlin citizens as the gently sloping shore made for the perfect, local beach. Contrary to the prevailing moral conceptions of that time, the people of Berlin wanted to get away from their cramped tenements - at least in their leisure times - and enjoyed going to the beach. The beach was so important to the Berliners, and the enthusiasm for the cool water at the outskirts of Berlin so great, that as far back as 1907, the government established a 200 meter (656 feet) long stretch of beach, announced as a "Public Family Bath". Even today, over 100 years later, the lake shore beach of Wannsee is one of the most popular areas in Berlin, with a capacity of 12,000 guests per day during the summer season.
In addition to the regular beach bustle, the 1275 meter (3/4 mile) long and 50 meter (164 feet) wide man-made beach continues to gain popularity for other events such as the music festival "Energy in the Park" or the "BerlinMan" Triathlon. The huge open air stage on the lake of Wannsee is perfectly suited for various events and last season alone attracted over 40,000 visitors. This success poses a big challenge for the operator, the "Berliner Bäder-Betriebe AöR". Whether it is the typical beach garbage of cigarette butts, broken glass and bottle caps, or the large amount of cups and plastic left after a concert, the BeachTech Marina is hard at work, making sure the beach is left perfect and clean for all to enjoy the following day.
