BeachTech BT 2500 in action against paraffin lumps on Juist

In recent weeks, conspicuous white lumps have washed up on the beaches of the North Sea islands of Juist, Norderney and Borkum. These are paraffin - a substance that is often released into the sea during the cleaning process of tankers. The lumps look harmless, but can pose a danger to animals and affect the ecosystem.

The island community of Juist reacted quickly and decided to use a BT 2500 BeachTech beach cleaner to efficiently remove the contaminants. The tried-and-tested device removed the paraffin residue quickly and thoroughly - even from the damp and firmer sandy areas.

We are delighted to have supported the municipality of Juist with our technology during the acute beach cleaning - for clean coasts and the protection of people and nature.
